George William Millard 1911 Cencus, Bracebridge Street Birmingham
« on: Saturday 05 April 14 22:03 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to trace my maternal great grandfather. There are some facts that don't match up in the cencus' i have found, but i have managed to find him 1911. He is widowed,( 2nd Wife, Edith Alice Child) living with my grandfather (Lesley George)and 4 daughters. these are new relations to me. No one appears to know of them in our family, so where/what happened to them? Where are their relatives?

George William Millard is also known as William George and just William and George. He was born about 1853/8. He dies in the Workhouse Infirmary in 1916 (Possibly Aston Union?) It appears he remarried (3rd Wife) to Elizabeth George, who signed his death certificate.

The four daughters are listed below and it is these relatives i am currently trying to find. Their mother is Edith Alice Child.

B 1904 Daisy Ellanor Millard
B 1905 Violet Edith Millard
B  1906 Ivy Rose Millard
B 1908 Ruby May Millard

I am aware of my grandfathers brother, Herbert William being a BHC and being sent to Canada. But it is these four daughters i know nothing about.

The other question is did Elizabeth George have children and did they all live together? What happened to her?

If anyone can help or provide information on these it would be much appreciated.

Hi welcome to Rootschat

There is a death of a Ruby May Millard in Bristol in 1972, but I dont think she is yours as her DOB was 10 May 1903. There appears to have been another Millard family with very similar names to yours.

Violet married George Williams. Do you know if they had any children?

I think i have found that Ruby..and i am sure she isn't this one. Being female, the luxury of tracing the same surname isn't something i can do! I have had a few false starts with possible husbands, but so far not the right ones.

Groom.....Could you let me know more about the other family? I have mainly used my great grandfathers trade as a way of tracing him (Bootmaker), as he changes his name so much. I believe though he may have been christened William in his family and George was a brother??
