« on: Wednesday 09 April 14 11:04 BST (UK) »
Hi Please could someone look up a possible death and burial of William Davies

William was the 1st husband of my grandmother He was born in West Derby in 1896 Married in Liverpool (catholic) in 1919 and had 2 children John William (or William John) 1921 and Mary Elizabeth 1924. My Grandmother (Mary Ann) divorced William in 1931-1932. This is all the solid information I have of him.

My Grandmother was adiment that William died on the Isle of Man not long after her divorce.  But she may very well of been wrong!

I would be grateful if someone could help

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

I looked at ManxBMD, but can't see a suitable death?
None in the 1930's; all those in the 1940's are aged 71 or more!

Nothing under Davis, either.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

If this burial is correct William  he is buried in   plot 1275   //section  2   of Braddan  New  Yard.

The   MI  is a follows  copied exactly from  Family History  Soc. record-------------------------------------

In Loving Memory of/ ERNEST  CANNELL /   youngest son of / JOHN  COTTIER, Joiner / who died

March 28th 1906 / aged 17 years /

In Loving Memory of/  WILLIAM  /  beloved husband of  LILIAN  DAVIES  who passed  away 18th----

-------1938/   sadly   missed.

The   --------means  the transcriber  could not read month.  But burial  list  clearly  says   AUGUST.
