The question often arises about remarriage when a spouse disappears, I thought this entry I came across in Essex may be of interest.

Yet another reason for looking at the original entries, rather than relying on "transcriptions".  Wonderful find  8)
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

I wonder if the lady in question was known in the parish, or whether she was just plain honest  :D
