"on the 25th ult" does not tell us what year he died.  We need that info to work out his birthyear.  There is no death on freebmd in Merionethshire with an age of 60 between 1871-1881

Where was he born?

What was his wife's name and who were his children?  With a name like Thomas Williams - you will need to give us enough info to be able to find him without having to download every entry to find one who is a chemist & druggist

Have you checked the 1871 here for him?

The obit says "formerly of Haverfordwest" which is in Pembrokeshire.  There is a Thomas Williams b Glamorgan aged 57 occ chemist - wife Catherine 56 - no children - living in Pembroke in 1871 but address is Hamilton Terrace

Is this him?  You will find the full entry on the FS link above.  This does not give his occ but gives all other details

The death is showing on North Wales BMD as in the Deudrath Sub-District.Apparently the Dolgellau Register Office of Merionethshire hold the Certificate.I'm also having difficulties finding a corresponding death as described in the GRO Death Index.

So that's 2 possible matches in Pembrokeshire - The one found above is shown as aged 60 and a retired chemist so if he died in 1875 - he should have been 64/65

His address on both finds does not correspond to the obit's reference

The OP has not replied to my request for more info
