Daniel Driscoll - Merthyr Tydfil

I have been trying for months to find out more about my g g grandfather, Daniel Driscoll.  I would like to know who my g g grandmother was, but haven't found any marriage records that I think are right.  Daniel would have been born in around 1832, but no idea where.  Ireland?  Story in the family is that he married in America and then returned to MT.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Judy and welcome 

It might be best to start from whatevidence you have.
If Daniel is your g g grandfather, do you have details of your g grandparent who is his child? Where was he/ she born and when.
If you don't have that, you need to go to the next generation.
Were his descendants in MT?

Thanks for the leads.  My grandfather, David Driscoll, was born in Merthyr in 1873 or 1875.  He moved to Gilfach Goch when he got married.  The only Daniel I can find which might fit died at the age of 50something, and so did my grandfather David.  I looked at the 1871 census, and found a Dennis, but I am not sure that this name has been transcribed correctly.  It is a very fuzzy image and could have been Daniel.

This is a P.S. to my previous post:  My father always claimed that he was related to Peerless Jim Driscoll, the boxer, so there might be a link there somewhere.
