Not able to get to the CCRO at the moment, so if anyone is privy to the Linton PR's, could they very kindly look up for me the details of the marriage in 1847 between a Thomas GREEN and a Jane RYDER.  I'd particularly like to know who Thomas's father was…

Hi again Trish, and many thanks for discovering more footprints of the GREEN family!
In this part of the country the Counties of Essex, Cambs and Suffolk come very close - touch, in fact - and without having to travel very far to look for other work, or to get married, the family are to be found in each of these, with Suffolk being a more recent location.
They must have been fairly successful at running their pubs in Littlebury and Thaxted in Essex, and much more recently in Wickhambrook, Suffolk.  You may have seen that I started a similar thread on the Essex boards, asking for help with various members of this GREEN family in Littlebury.
I think the word that springs to mind might be ubiquitous (in a fairly small area, across various county borders)…
