Looking for any information about the descendants of John Rush & Dora McDonough married February, 1887. Children were Thomas born 1888, Mary Catherine born 1891, John born 1895. They lived in Cloontarsna. Dora was my grandmothers sister.

Hi, I came across this in my research, this is not my Rush family but I kept it.  Not sure if you have this information or not but this is a newspaper report.
"Last week a case of drowning under pathetic circumstances occurred at Taughnara, near Ballinlough. It appears a little boy named John Rush about 14 years, (he is actually 17 on his death certificate and the date of death is 18th August) left his father's house at Taughnara on Saturday evening, the 20th August 1910 to follow his father, who had gone milking in the adjacent field.  The deceased little boy did not succeed in finding his father, and on the father's return to his residence deceased was missed and on a search being made - the night being dark - no trace of the little boy's whereabouts could be found.  The search for the little boy was continued up to Wednesday last, when the little boy's mother observed his body from a distance, floating in the Ballinlough Lake, close by.  The boy's mother rushed into the lake and conveyed the lifeless body to her residence half a mile distant.  It is surmised that owing to the darkness of the nigh the little boy lost his way and fell into the lake."
Hope this is of some assistant.
