Many thanks Anne :D

These have been causing a few of us problems, as the surname became used in families *** Harper Killin.

I've located them on FreeCen and thanks for the reminder that some Scottish details may be found there.

Kind Regards - Dave

My goodness, look at the wee children working as Collier &  factory workers - especially the 6 & 8 yr old!  Six! I know it did happen, but to see it so starkly evident on the page, it's quite heart-wrenching!

(PS Harriet, it looks like a 110% match to me  :D )

Hi All researchers of this Harper family,  I am writing a biography for Charles Harper of this family, he made an important discovery of coal and founded a town in NSW Australia.  I would very much like to have contact with any researchers willing to help me as the biography will be of significant importance to the history of the town.
Charles was killed by his own mine in 1888 at age 53years.
I hope I am not too late to join the rootschat.
