He was my grandfather. I have his family history. George William died shortly after birth of meningitis, either en route to South Africa or here.  The one who died in Durban in 1968 was not related unless of course he did not die in 1910 and was institutionalized.

Thanks, Suz. So here's my third post. I'm still intrigued as to why there is so much interest in my grandfather. Is there anyone here who is even distantly related to him? I thought I knew just about all of them.

In fact his name is Alfred Arthur Verinder. His branch of the family dropped the second "r" a generation back.
