Duplicate family
« on: Thursday 08 May 14 15:09 BST (UK) »
So many of my searches are ‘lost’ in 1861 so imagine my delight at finding Sara Thomas (b. 1853), with her family in Hengoed, Gelligaer
Oh dear, then I found another ST with a virtually identical family but this time in Crosspenmain, Mynyddislwyn.
1.   RG9/4046/50/7.
2.   RG9/4026/84/42.
Surely these cannot be two different families, despite the slight discrepancies in some ages and the transcription for No2 saying the Head was Dane? (I think the image says Dan’l).
Luckily, I know Sarah was born in Trinant, Mon. so if I had to choose a record it would be No2.
I’m thinking they were in the throes of moving from Crosspenmain to Hengoed and filled in a census at both locations?
I can find only one family in 1871, in Cwmsyfiog, New Tredegar.
Any comments?
