When a number of counties are involved it is sometimes better to stay in general. Several posts can be a little confusing. Glad the searches to date aw proving useful

As you have no parish to locate William specifically in Laois I would suggest that you concentrate on locating his RIC records, however you are not guaranteed to find more information

LINK to RIC site

A search on rootsireland.ie a paid site will show that there are baptism records for
9 William FitzPatricks that were born in Co. Laois between 1845 and 1849
This is just from the available records on line on this site
Without William's parents names from another site finding his birth will be very difficult

Right

I received the marriage certificate for William Fitzpatrick and Bridget McCarthy. William's father is named Timothy Fitzpatrick. Would this help in finding a baptism?

thanks

Timothy Fitzpatrick, father of William

Hello

My ancestor William Fitzpatrick was born in Queen's County in Ireland in 1847. After receiving his marriage certificate today, his proper age isn't documented, but his father was named Timothy.

After looking at the 1901 census, I have found a possible father, Timothy Fitzpatrick and Norah living in Cork County, but I am not certain

Would someone be able to help locate William's birth certificate, so I can confirm the link?

my thanks

Link with info about birth regs

Birth Registration only commenced in 1864 in Ireland, so no birth cert will be available.  A baptismal record may possibly exist.

There is a possible on RootsIreland a William born to a Timothy in Laois in 1845, I'll see if I can narrow it down a bit

Right that's in Mountrath parish.

It's pay to view and will only be a transcription.

That link probably doesn't work http://www.rootsireland.ie

Likely could be the one, the 1847 birth date is from the 1901 census and you know that the census is usually a year off.
