You've been a great help Trish, thank you so much.  This entry certainly adds up to me.  I don't know how I can really prove it was the right John Hall though.
Hopefully I can somehow find Charles Grocock on a census with Mary Ann Hall and at least show she belongs to my Hall's.
Thanks to you it appears I have solved one half of my problem.
Cheers,Pat

1871 Census
Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire
RG10/3318/88/2
Ann GROCOCK, 54, Head, Widow, Ag Lab, born Anwick
Henry, 15, Son, Ag Lab,born Holbeach
Stephen, 18, ((image is 12),Son, Ag Lab, born Pinchbeck
Eliza WALL (image is Hall), 22, Widow, Ag Lab, born Holbeach
Annie D Grocock, 4mths (image is 4ys I think), Grand/Daug born Moulton

I think Annie should be Hall as she is dittoed from below Eliza but transcribed as Grocock

There is a Death Reg June 1866 Spalding for a John Hall age 22 and a Birth Reg June 1866 for a Annie Hall.
Chesman Payne Dale Tooley Biggadike Hall - Lincolnshire.
Steward Howard - Norfolk
Johnson Trussell Tunstall - Derbyshire.
Edwards Oldale  - Yorkshire.

Your welcome.

MMm, interesting, maybe just a coincidence but Anc has a Ann GROCOCK age 80, birth c 1815 Lincolnshire, dying in Sydney Australia 1895.
Coroners Report has that she died from injuries received after falling off a balony.

OOPS not her though has NSW BMD has her Father as William

I think this is Ann who married James Grocock;
Ann FAULKNER Christened 17 November 1814, Anwick, Lincoln, Mother ELIZABETH Faulkner

Eliza married George DIGBY;
1881 Census
George Digby 36
Eliza Digby 32
George H. Digby 7
Eliza A. Digby 6
William Digby 4
Katie E. Digby
Henry GASCOCK, 25, Brother, born Holbeach###

Thank you for taking the time to answer my query.  No this is not mine.
I have found my Charles Grocock and Mary Ann Hall.  They were on my doorstep here in Australia all the time.  They left England soon after their marriage in 1863.
Unfortunately Mary Ann died in 1877.  I have yet to trace what happened to Charles and their children after her death.
Cheers,
Pat.
