I searched for the burial of  James Anthony Morris in Ireland but without success.  Today I shall try for burial in England.

Heywood - what is the source for the marriage index you mention please?  I am assuming the 1881 is a reference to the Census but am uncertain if this is Ireland or England???

Hi Westy,
I thought you said that James died in Galway?

I based my findings on the James born Longford in 1891 which you gave.
James T A Morris married to Anna M

1881   88/12/17

Moore Street Chelsea

James T Morris 30 yrs Annuitant born Galway
Is a lodger in the home of John Lee, cabinet maker and family. There are no Irish connections so presumably he is just a lodger.

Free BMD Kensington June Quarter 1881

James Joseph T A Morris and Anna M Stacey

Is this the right James?

Hi Heywood

Yes I did say that in my original post.  This was the information I had to hand based on a book on pedigrees from which his wife descended.  To date I have not located any records on his death.

I have found him practicing in Galway as a JP and the latest I currently have in 1903. His wife died in Clifden in 1907 [as per the pedigree & probate record].

In relation to his birth he gave those details on a few census I located and it was noted in the book of pedigrees.

In relation to the marriage - yes you are correct and I note he used Joseph as his second of many names.

Heywood

That is fantastic.  :)

Is there any access to probate records that indicate an exact date of death and a location at death?

Kind regards

You can send for a copy if the death entry in the registers for 4 euros. There are more expensive options. See here https://www.welfare.ie/en/downloads/Death_Application_Form-English.doc

There are various bits of information about this family online if you search around.

For example, http://landedestates.nuigalway.ie/LandedEstates/jsp/estate-show.jsp?id=779 which says the house is still occupied.

You may be able to find some information here http://www.galway.ie/en/Services/Library/LocalHistory/
