Twerton St Michael
« on: Saturday 24 May 14 17:42 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm trying to establish the exact parentage of EMMA LAPPIDGE born Twerton 1843. On her marriage cert she says her father is William and he is a Gardener. There is a William that fits in Twerton but there is never an Emma with them. She only appears in 1861 as a lodger in Twerton.

Can anyone access Twerton parish records for 1843/1844 to check for a baptism as I can't seem to find anything online that goes up to this date.
Thanks

Jan

Hi,

There is an on-line tree with an Emma Lapidge, with the following info on Emma's birth -

Birth Certificate - born 24.1.1843. Mother is Jane LAPIDGE formerly DRUCE. Father is William LAPIDGE, a soldier in the Marines.

Therefore it would appear that the birth Rosie99 found is correct.

That is marvellous...thank you so much for your help. I will try using the other spelling of Lappidge/Lapidge to check the online tree as well as looking at Royal Marine papers.
