See www.workhouses.org.uk/Eton. This excellent website has the whole history. The surviving buildings plus additions are now Upton Park Hospital. My father died there 31st March 1980. The location is actually (now Albert Street) Slough. Reason for name Upton is within parish of Upton cum Chalvey.

Upton burial ground is a bit more problematical, at least for me, it sounds like a municipal cemetery. Most likely it is St Mary's in Church Street SL1 1RJ. Church Street runs beside the hospital. It appears to have been consecrated in 1878 although not finished until 1913. Best I can do with this.

Does that mean my ID of Upton Workhouse is wrong? Turville is west of High Wycombe. Say mid Bucks. Buckingham is north Bucks, Slough south Bucks. Slough and Eton have been in Berkshire since 1974.

Good heavens no  ;D your link was invaluable there *if* we have the correct Henry Hussey.  County lines/boundaries etc have changed so much over the years.

Your entry looks alright Fifer. Parish of Upton cum Chalvey is certainly Slough. I think it was the original parish church of Slough. St Laurence's. My parents were married there in 1940. It's more like a country church in size.

Yes, pob is mistranscribed. It is Turvel. Wife's name has been corrected by an ancestry member to Drusilla.
