A most respectable son, of a farther alike respected and respectable,
whose farther was also a wine - merchant in Shrewsbury. Mr.Hughes family were
maternally connected with the line of the family
of Rogers, of Eaton Mascott.

The Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway was _______

free Grammar school was celebrated on the 23rd and
24th April, 1850, by a public presscion to
St. Mary's church, headed by the Mayor and Corporation

The Mayor died at College Hill, 2
Mar, 1878, and was buried at the
Shrewsbury cemetary. He was elected on
the Town Council in 1844, and was
Alderman in 1859. During his Mayoralty
the Shrewsbury Smithfield was opened.

Do not see a connection to my Hughes family, of Buttington Parish.
