Bernard ONeill, born in Cork(city area)  in the 1880s. Had brothers and sisters. Was "asked" to not return when joining the English army and stationed in Scotland. Married there and returned to Cork only to take the family to Philadelphia.  Trying to find family of his brothers (2) and sister. Though that was never confirmed.

Scottish marriage certificates list names of BOTH parents which should help in identifying the correct Bernard O'Neill. If he died in Philadelphia then his parents should also be listed on his death certificate although informant may not know the correct details so more room for error.
Once you know exactly who his parents could be then you can start searching for a birth record in order to trace the family in Ireland.
