Bournemouth chief constable 1920s
« on: Saturday 07 June 14 22:14 BST (UK) »
Some years ago there was a Channel 4 documentary about the chief constable of Bournemouth in the 1920s being involved in the cover up of a murder. Try as i might I can't find the thing. Does anyone else remember this program and can they point me in the right direction. Thanks.

There were only 2 Chief Constables during the 1920's

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hampshire_Constabulary#Previous_Chief_Constables

Major St. Andrew Bruce Ward
Major Ernest Radcliffe Cockburn

Have not yet found any murder cover up but still looking, although there is nothing obvious on this site.

The most famous Bournemouth murder about that time was the Rattenbury murder, although I think that was in the early 1930s not 1920s. Though I've never heard of any sort of cover up over it. Middle aged man leaves first wife for younger model. Second wife takes a lover. Lover kills husband.

Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
