I hadnt seen the Davies - Jones marriage, but its the 1841 census with the Worthingtons which made me think it was the right family. But perhaps not!!

Yes it is finding the correct birth which is the difficulty here!

It does look though as if Thomas is quite significant in the family with the Thomas Henry(1853) and the John Thomas(1876).

Yes its a very common name unfortunately! Ive ordered the marriage cert of John Davies and Jane Jones, so hopefully this will have Johns father on, and may throw up some other helpful info.

I guess ill just have to wait for this certificate now! Even if it does reveal Johns father to be Thomas, there could still be a chance that there was more than one Thomas with a son John in the area...
