Hi, can you tell me what Florence Rebecca Fendley died of. She was born 1910 and died in 1913.(July to Sept register).  Her death was registered in the district of Wisbeach but born in Kings Lynn. Her parents were John William Fendley(or Hodgson?) and Agnes Mary Fendley(Or Hodgson)?

Also is it possible to find out when Barry Roger Plowright died? I think he as born in 1941, in the first quarter, and may have lived only a very short time. His parents were Ralph and Agnes Plowright and lived in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Many many thanks. Maz.

Is it true that years ago, when a baby died, probably at birth, they were buried in a coffin with another person who had also died?

Thank you, Maz

Hi,
Please could you tell me or direct me to find out if John William Hodgson, often referred to as John William Fendley, was ever actually adopted by into the Hodgson family or did he assume the Hodgson surname?

John William Hodgson of Terrington St. Clement, Norfolk. Born 1885, registered  in Downham Market June 1885. Died Sept. 1990.
Cheers Marion

I am confused. Could anyone years ago just use any surname they wanted to without officially changing it?  My grandfather, John William Hodgson(Fendley) appears to have done this!!  Can I find out if my grandfather officially ever changed his name? Many thanks.
