George Hinchcliffe Baptism
« on: Saturday 28 June 14 17:38 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the baptism record for George Hinchcliffe who was born around 1825 in Knottingley.
He married Bessy Stacey in 1847 but I haven't found their marriage record yet and so can't confirm his father's name.

Thanks,
Lisa

I've searched for George Hinchcliffe in Knottingley but I'm struggling to find anything.
I think Knottingley is in the Pontefract district so should I search under Pontefract instead?

Baptisms I have found are in Highfield, Huddersfield 31 Dec 1826, 6 June 1824 Thornhill, and one in Darton all in the feasible Yorkshire area.  Do you Know George's Parents names?  1851 Census shows George and wife Bessey, piece 1270, book 9, folio 36 page 8. George born in Royston and Bessey in Knottingley. 1861 can't find and 1871 piece 4497, folio 44, page 34, both George and Bessey shown born in Knottingley.  Royston a small village between Barnsley and Knottingley on the A628.
