The main cemetery used by Dublin people was Glasnevin and Mount Jerome and also Deansgrange.
If you have a particular name you would like to find there are people on here who are used to using the search facilities for some of these cemeteries if you would like our help.

I am looking to find the burial place of my Great Grandmother Maria Doyle, I have family letters by her written in 1932 with address 22 Charlemont Place, Harcourt Terrace, Dublin - she was 79 years old in 1932, so I imagine she died sometime in the 1930's or early 1940's. She was a Widow in 1932 her husband was Christopher Doyle, a Gardener, I don't know when he died (sometime between 1912 - 1930). She also had a son Henry Doyle age 55 in 1932 and living in Dublin, what I know about him is that he was a Boer War veteran with the Royal Irish Rifles and his son (firstname unknown) was married in January 1932. The 1932 letter is the last trace I have of the Doyle branch of my family - I would like to find out where any of them are buried.

There is a Christopher Doyle buried Glasnevin age 68 in 1912 and his death is registered in Dublin South 1912 he seems to be the only man of that age to have died in Dublin in a ten year span by same name.
You can purchase a grave read out from Glasnevin Trust Genealogy on line for about 8 euro.
The index shows that it is an extended grave, more than one person buried in plot but this does not guarantee that all in plot are related.
A standard purchase is 3 euro for one person.
It is a gamble if you decide to take it let us know how you get on.

Am i on the right track
Christopher Doyle married Maria Flynn Rathdown 1873
Children born before 1881
Mary 18 Oct 1873 Delgany
Denis 8 Sep 1875 Bray
Henry 15 Oct 1877 Rathdown
Christina 24 Dec 1879 Kilmurray

1901 Census of 75 Charlemont St
Christopher Doyle age 45 born Wicklow ,Gardiner, married wife not listed

1901 Census 5 North Gt Georges St
Maria Doyle age 45 born Wicklow married servant with daughter Lizzie

1911 Census 71.5 Charlemont St
Henry Doyle age 32 born Wicklow, Coachman
Wife Alice born England married 7 years 1 child ( see 1901 Census 128 Darthmouth Square,Rathmines Alice C Christian born Dublin age 22)
Ellen Christian born England sister in law(Irish Genealogy has baptisms for this family starting in 1869 then a gap till 1880)
Alfred Doyle age 7 son born Dublin.possibly born 1905 Dublin South or 1902
There dosent seem to be a marriage in Dublin 1932 for Alfred but 2 recorded 1928 and 1929 if right family.

Hello Dathai,

Yes all you listed above about the Doyle's is correct:
"Christopher Doyle married Maria Flynn Rathdown 1873
Children born before 1881
Mary 18 Oct 1873 Delgany
Denis 8 Sep 1875 Bray
Henry 15 Oct 1877 Rathdown
Christina 24 Dec 1879 Kilmurray

1901 Census of 75 Charlemont St
Christopher Doyle age 45 born Wicklow ,Gardiner, married wife not listed

1901 Census 5 North Gt Georges St
Maria Doyle age 45 born Wicklow married servant with daughter Lizzie

1911 Census 71.5 Charlemont St
Henry Doyle age 32 born Wicklow, Coachman
Wife Alice born England married 7 years 1 child ( see 1901 Census 128 Darthmouth Square,Rathmines Alice C Christian born Dublin age 22)
Ellen Christian born England sister in law(Irish Genealogy has baptisms for this family starting in 1869 then a gap till 1880)
Alfred Doyle age 7 son born Dublin.possibly born 1905 Dublin South or 1902"

However the letter written in January 1932, specifically said that "Henry's son is getting married this month" - maybe he married in Wicklow instead of Dublin?

Apologies for butting in but I am intrigued by Dathai's reference in reply #6 to finding a burial plot in Mount Jerome.  Can I ask your source Dathai? Was it the Dublin IGP headstone collection for Mount Jerome or another, more easily searchable source?
