Well the Longford Leader would be local paper, not on line but maybe part of Online Newspaper as part of group /www.irishnewsarchive.com/ which could be available at your local library.

If you have date etc then maybe you can email Longford Leader and see if they provide a look up service...

If you want other members of his family, as Dathai has said he is in both Census.

Death ages are often incorrect, as a census ages.

Hi, as promised I was in Dublin City Library, Pearse Street today and did a search on the Irishnewsarchive.com . In the Longford Leader dated May 14th 1949 there is a front page article entitled " Ballinalee Man's Tragic Death". It gives some harrowing details of inquest on your Grandfather, James Heuston. What an awful thing to happen.

One other piece of history you may or may not be aware of. When one looks at Griffith Valuation Records of Drumderg in Co. Longford in askaboutireland.com one finds a Robert Hewson occupying a House and Forge ..... so the family seem to have been Blacksmiths in previous generations.

If you dont get a satisfactory reply from the Longford Leader send me a PM and I will do what I can to help

Regards
Kevin (meath999)

James Heuston was the father of my mother's childhood friend, Violet. My mother remembers the fire well.
