I am trying to find out whether William Durham b 1672 in Noke Oxfordshire was married to Mary Bolding or Mary Bolden, they are different people and have different parents but both see to have the same marriage date 20 Jun 1697 in St Mary Magdalen Oxford,

According to the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837), William DURHAM married Mary BOLDING on 03 JAN 1707 at St. Mary Magdalen, Oxford.  Both bride and groom were recorded as coming from Islip.

This is the earliest marriage for any William DURHAM on the index.

Not sure if this clarifies matters - or muddies the waters further!

PS  The reference to "Islip" does not necessarily mean that it was their respective places of birth, merely that it was their place of abode at the time of the marriage.

Thanks for the information, if you have the records can you tell me please who John Busby/Busbey born in Headington in 1681 married,  lots have Margaret Bliss but I'm not sure that couple marry in Shipton under Wychwood but his children are in Headington where as Margaret had children in Shipton  :-\ ?

This is the only marriage for a Margaret BLISS on the index:

24 NOV 1697 - John BUSBEY (of Ascott) to Margaret BLISS (of Taynton) at Shipton-under-Wychwood

However, there are dozens of marriages recorded for John BUSB(E)Ys - so not sure if this gives you the answer you want!

Pennie, thanks for the look ups, I did have Mary Bolding in the first place then I saw another with Mary Bolden, I will go for Mary Bolding which to me is the more Likely. as for John Busby, he does appear to have been born in Headington in 1681, so I will unlink Margaret Bliss as I don't think she fits.
Best wishes
