Hunter and Porteous

Hello, I am looking for any information on a Helen McIntyre Hunter, daughter of Henry Hunter and Helen Porteous. Born circa 1859 possibly Caithness. Her occupation was a school teacher and she married a George Renton in Lasswade, Midlothian in 1883.

Have you checked for a birth registration on the ScotlandsPeople website (or at the centre if you are near Edinburgh)? Some less common names there so possibly not too hard to find.

There is also a public tree on Ancestry which includes a photo of what appears to be the same woman.

From a quick look on Ancestry, she seems to be in Thurso 1861, Edinburgh 1871, Bradford 1881, Essex 1891 and 1911.
