Death records in Argentina
« on: Sunday 20 July 14 15:49 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out any information about Thomas Alexander Owen born in Glasgow in 1882 and died in Buenos Aires in 1955

He emigrated with his family to Montevideo in 1889 but returned on and off to the UK throughout his life.

He may have married Mable M E Woolton and I have a record that they returned to Buenos Aires in 1919 with their daughter Helen Alexander Lillian Owen but I am not 100% sure about this.

I can't not find his death in the UK so I am presuming he died in Buenos Aires where he lived the majority of the time.

Many thanks for this information

I received the marriage cert today and Thomas married Mabel, who was 16 years younger than him
and they returned to Buenos Aires when the war finished as I have found the outward passenger list for repatriated officers and families.

I now wonder who Dorothy was, could she perhaps be Thomas's sister? She died in the UK in 1986 and I have her birth date as 6th Aug 1899  ??? ???

Have noticed that the ages info given on the image of this guys sailing 24 Jan 1926 London to Buenos Aires on the Upwey Grange, are a bit muddled.with an address in Thames Ditton Surrey.
Also wonder if Ancestry Electoral Rolls would be of help,to find the 1937 address in 17 chandes Court SW1.     [I do not have a subscription] Could have been his London company/flat,as appears a well heeled guy.
The Mansfield marriage ref,is probably not correct, unless of course she was his first wife.could have divorced, but obviously too young,so discount her as a wife of Thomas Alexander Owen.
