:D

Barbara - I found that birth record, except there she is listed as being born in Mildenhall, whereas everywhere else her birth place is listed as Lakenheath. As I do not know much about the area, I'm not sure whether these two are sort of interchangeable, again it seems likely to be her.

Kay - Thanks for the tip, I've found the record now. I'm guessing the poor bloke wandering the streets filling in the census was a bit fed up by this point!

Mark - I thought the War would have been likely as he would have been of that sort of age. The George I'm looking for is George Frederic, not George H unfortunately.

avm - I saw that, it confirmed who George and Nellie's parents were for me!

Thanks again for all the help everyone,
Alice

Jan - Looks possible, she would have been about 21 at the time, a reasonable age to get married! In Rochford as well, I don't think my family have ever moved from Essex! I also found a record for George F Everitt marrying Pettengale in Rochford, 1935 (4a 2345), seems possible.

Mark, Barbara - Thanks, makes a lot more sense now. Agnes seems to have been living on Landwade Farm in 1881, her father was a stud groom, not far from Newmarket.

All the pieces are finally slotting together :)

Hi, not sure at this stage if I can be of too much help as I too have only just started on family history. However why I replied is that George Everett, your Great Grandfather is in fact my Grandfather. You mentioned George Frederic and Nellie Maud who I noticed listed in a family bible with their birth details. Also listed were details of other family members back to George and Francis Ann.
I also have a tree that links back to 1787 which I am going to try to verify. As I say literally just starting.
