I am looking for a John Butler (Snr). Now as it is a common name I have found it very difficult to find him.

This is what I know he had brothers
H. Butler
George Butler

During the mid 30s he also played for North Skelton Rovers.

He then went to War (WWII).

John (Snr) then takes over as manager and his son John (Jnr) began to play for the slub.

R.W. Butler (brother of John Snr.) also began playing.

I suspect the latest John (Snr) was born would have been Dec 1908 and the earliest 1900.

any ideas on how to locate bother John Snr and John Jnr ? ?

Hi all,

Raising this thread from the depths of the North Sea.

Wondered if anyone had any info on the Butlers?

This lot are rather elusive it appears.

Have you tried to identify R W Butler from free bmd?

Added:
There are not many, and include Ronald W Butler (Walton) born 1914 in Middlesboro.

As I have not been following this thread, I do not know whether that would be a reasonable likely birth.

Added:
Also Robert William Butler, 1899, Middlesborough, but I was assuming R W would be younger than John (snr)

There are a very few others around Yorkshire and surrounding counties.
