Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone can help me find some information out about the Lyons family.
I am looking for when the family first came to Australia and maybe where from and also a marriage for George Lyons and Amelia Hamilton.

I am the great great grandson of Charles Alfred Lyons born 1867 Landsborough Vic and died 1935 in Ouyen Vic, son of George Thomas Lyons and Amelia Hamilton, I have no information about George and Amelia so anything you can tell me would be great thanks

This birth certificate would give you the parents' date of marriage, their ages and places of birth along with the father's occupation.

Charles is the only child born to this couple in Victoria.  I can't see that George and Amelia were married in Victoria so we need to look for their arrival.  The birth certificate would also list, if any, previous births to George and Amelia.

Charles Alfred, Matilda, Frederick Hamilton and Wm Henry LYONS are listed in the Children's Register of State Wards for Victoria.  There are other LYONS registered but have no idea if they are Charles' siblings.  You need his birth certificate with previous children of the marriage.

BINGO...found a tree with George's ancestry in Jamaica.

Need to do some verifying of the info in Australia.

Frederick Hamilton LYONS #4587 b. 5 Sep 1860 Landsborough committed 6 Sep 1870  neither parents alive.

also Thomas Edwin LYONS #4588 b. 23 Dec 1863 Landsborough committed 6 Sep 1870 neither parent alive.

Brothers #4590, #4591 and sister #4592. I cannot locate those files to see.

So George's death is correct....can't see one for Amelia.
