Arthur of Aghadowey

Looking for information about an Arthur family that emigrated to Ontario,  Canada from Aghadowey.

In possession of the family a bible with following inscription.

Presented to Sara Arthur by the friends and (_?)  of the Aghadowy Sunday school.

Sarah Arthur (1841-1929) married Thomas Logan (1846-1918) in Canada. Marriage certificate says she was daughter of John and Eliza Arthur.

Sarah had brothers William,  Samuel and Thomas Arthur also in Canada.

Sarah Jane Arthur** -
“John Arthur had an older daughter named Sarah who came to America in 1854. She married Thomas Logan in 1870. My records, obtained from members of the Logan family, show her birth as 1841. This would make her 13 years old when she travelled alone from Ireland. The story is that she met a lady on the ship who hired her and she worked in New York for this woman for about a year and then proceeded to Ontario where she lived with her uncle Thomas, until she married Thomas Logan in 1870 making her age 31 at the time. Her first child was born in 1872. Her husband was three years younger than she was.” (family letter written in 1999).

Note: Elizabeth (Arthur) McMaster was the only one of the family that stayed in Ireland.

Is Cah in Errigal?  I can find a John Arthur in Crevole,  Aghadowey in 1831 census.

Is the information about his wife being a Moore from family tradition?

Cah town land is indeed in Errigal parish but borders on the Aghadowey parish town lands of Gorran, Lisboy and Killykergan.

Yes, Cah is in Errigal but think some of their land was in Aghadowey Parish at some point which is probably why I put Aghadowey.

The Moore information is from records in Canada, such as death certificate for Eliza's children, as well as family stories. Some of the Moores also went to Canada such as Eliza's brother Thomas mentioned in this family letter from 1999: “He left Ireland at age of 17 in 1852 to come to Upper Canada to seek a new home. He sailed to Hamilton, Ontario, and travelled by foot to the Hawtrey area in Norwich Township, arriving in the year 1854. William worked for his uncle, Tom Moore, in the sawmill near Hawtrey until he had saved enough to buy a farm.”

Aghadowey -  would you know where the Logans were from? (Thomas Logan married Sarah Jane Arthur)

Sorry but all I know about Thomas Logan is that he was from 'Ireland.' Perhaps records in Ontario (death certificate, gravestone, etc.) might list a more exact location or names of his parents.

Have found Archie McMaster (aged 72) & wife Elizabeth (Arthur) aged 71 in 1911 census, Cah (Cam). Both were over 20 years older than in 1901 (probably for OAP reasons!).

Griffiths' revision book for Cah appears to show Archibald McMaster struck off about 1918.

But having trouble locating their deaths on GRONI online index. Any ideas?
