managing saved records on FindMyPast
« on: Saturday 02 August 14 13:13 BST (UK) »
I went a bit mad last month with my £1 subscription to FindMyPast, and have loads of BMD records and Census returns in my saved records on their website. I now want to save the relevant ones to my own files on my computer, but am finding the whole process incredibly tedious because I have to have another look at each record to find out what it is (most are just tagged with the name of the person I searched for), then download it, then rename it, then save it to my file, then go back and somehow tag the FindMyPast record to say I've done this, so I don't get any more confused than I already am! With that wonderful thing called hindsight I realise I should have done this for each record as I went along, but, hey ho, I didn't, I just recorded the main info on my tree, so.......has anyone any suggestions or hints and tips as to how I can make this a bit easier to do?
Thanks

On the Find My Past my record screen you can add a tag which shows in the My Records Page, just click  the edit icon and add a tag eg or saved, allocated etc and you can see this on the My records page.

Thanks Jane, I hadn't noticed the 'tag' facility, doh! It has certainly made it easier for me to label each record so at least I know what I'm looking at without having to go into the image or transcript every time. :D

But can you select/ sort on Tags? I.e. Effectively separate records into  different files?
