Hi

I am trying to find information on John Pawley from the below Regiment, so far all I have managed to get his his War medal, I have all the information from all of the Census and the below information, but am having great difficulty in finding out about his war years, I have looked on Ancestry but pulled a blank, plenty of info on his brothers and cousins but I can't find his records, can you help please
 
PAWLEY  JOHN age 27 killed 11/08/1917 Private Norfolk Regiment 8th Bn Belgium '43701' YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL Panel 4

Hi

The biggest problem is that about 60% of the records from WW1 were destroyed during bombing raids in the Second World War and his may have been amongst them.
