John opie  is on the 1851 census as a lodger with the Honey family and son walter  aged 3. He is down as a widower.

 cant find a baptism for him yet to see who his mother was. similarly I can see mary jane birth index but no baptism.

turning to mary snell who john opie married  I have given you her christening earlier on in the thread - james and grace in menheniot.

apart from mary there appears to be two other baptisms  to james and grace in menheniot- ie siblings to mary

this would appear to be grace lamertons birth

the only thing is that grace who is with  mary on census in Northumberland is born 1790 ish so older?


and seems to die in 1867 in tynemouth

so starting again here is james and grace in 1841 with children jane and mary. Don't know where Richard is although I can see him as a servant in 1851.
