FamilySearch has a number of 1870s Co. Meath births to a Philip Halton and Mary Lynch but I can't see a Mary for those parents (nor on the RootsIreland website).

In amongst all those FamilySearch records however, is a William Halton born Co. Meath to Philip Halton and Anne Burke - when you put those parents' names into the RootsIreland website search index, you get back Co. Meath baptisms for Patrick in 1860, Mary in 1862 (Athboy RC parish), and William in 1865.

A bit early for your friend's Mary, but simply worth noting Philip Halton and Anne Burke until you can rule them in or out.

Hi
I too am seeking info on Mary Halton who married Patrick J O'Connor (my great grandfather).  Their marriage record from Athboy RC Church Co Meath shows her father as Philip (a Carman) and his father Peter (a Tailor)   - was your friend able to find any further info about their parents ?

Many thanks in advance

Pat Conroy

Found a couple of court appearances for Philip Halton (Carman/Carrier) on Findmypast.ie

13jun1869 - Court Fine - 3 pence and 1 shilling costs for "one mule wandering on the public road at Otterstown"
27Sep1886 - Court Fine - 2/- shilling for "did turn loose mare and foal on public road at Castletown"

(Otterstown and Castletown are on outskirts of Athboy Co. Meath)

cheers - Pat
