Hi,

There is an online tree for James Thomas Flynn b. 1908 Balham, London which gives
his parents as James Flynn and Phoebe Eleanor Ellis.

If this is your James, there is a Canadian Passenger List for James Flynn age 23, departing
Southampton, England arriving St. John, Brunswick, Canada in April 1927 on the ship the
Minnedosa . He gives his place of birth as London, England, previous occupation stoker, intended
occupation farmer, nearest relative from country from which you came Mrs. P. Flynn, 106
Oldridge Rd. Balham, London, England, mother.  Intended address in Canada C.A. Van Scoy,
C.P.R. ( Canadian Pacific Railway) Co???? Dept., Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The free view of this passenger list from Library and Archives Canada is unfortunately not
very legible. Ancestry passenger list is more legible.

That looks like him DB.

Electoral Register shows a James Thomas Flynn and a Phoebe Ellen Flynn at 106 Oldridge Road Wandsworth in 1925.

Excellent Sandra.

I was curious as to why the name C.A. Van Scoy appeared so often beside passenger's names.
Chester Allan Van Scoy was assistant commissioner Immigration and Colonization for the
CPR, and involved in the land development scheme. They advertised heavily for cheap land
in Canada.
Here's an ad from 1927.

Thought it was interesting.
