unsolvable mystery ?
« on: Friday 15 August 14 19:25 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I have a unsolvable mystery (I think). My nan had a child in 1945 in Redruth (Trewingie Corner). She was not married. Her residence was Linford Essex but she had the baby ib Redruth.  Her name was Doris Windley (widow). The child Christopher Robin. She never would tell who the father was. Birthcert. (Redruth) and cert. of baptism (Gwinear) stated no father.
Is there any way at all to find out who the father was or is this indeed an unsolvable mystery ?

Any help grately appreciated.

unsolveable

A father of an illegitimate child could only be named on the birth certificate if he ws present at the registration
He would only be named in the baptism register if the mother gave that info to the vicar

If the mother was unwilling to say who the father was, then it will remain unknown

She stayed at Castle Kayle Farm so I've been told. Any possibilities there ?

Everyone who might have known is probably long dead...

The only avenue left is for the child concerned, - (now an OAP:-) to have a DNA test; which might narrow down the origins of the DNA on the male side of the family.
