many thanks for all your help, I've been going thru all the details you kindly provided and make a tree with just these details to see how they fit into my tree. I do just have one question on some of the details and links that you added eg:
4.   Mary Ann (1871-aft.1901)

I'm assuming that the names of the McKenna's are the witnesses, I followed the link you gave but only got to see the basic info and no names of the witnesses as you provided I was wondering how you managed to find these details. I do have a family search account but have to admit I don't tend to use the site as much as I probably should do, I tend to use ancestry, emerald ancestors and roots ireland

I wonder if you had anymore information about Mary Ann (Donnelly) Regan.  I am researching Donnelly's.  Over the years I have gathered alot of information trying to piece this family together and 'place them'and their movements.  A *gut feeling*( not the best research tool) and some other information in your thread just made me wonder if she was one of 'mine'?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.     I suppose the  easiest thing to ask is where does she come from and who were her parents? What year was she born?

I came unstuck tracing my Donnelly's with my 2x great grandfather whom I think was born about 1840-45. When visiting Ireland several years ago I came across a story which placed my family as originally from 'the mountain'/Brackalislea/Gortahurk.  I do know there are alot of Donnelly's in this area with 'nicknames' for the various offshoots to identify the various families.  I am forever keeping my eyes open for any clues!
