Place in Anaughloan/Annaclone
« on: Monday 18 August 14 10:42 BST (UK) »
Hi

The (Scottish)  will of a William Waterson in 1776, refers to his nephew and brother in what looks like Ballnessy in Anaughloan. Does anyone know which Townland this would be in please?

I attach a snip from the will. In the will, he refers to William, Andrew,John, Henry and  Mary Waterson.

Grateful for any info on the place and/or the Watersons.

Thanks

Thanks for looking  :)

I had checked the Genuki townland list before putting  my query here.  I've now found a Ballynaskeah on here:  http://www.maphill.com/united-kingdom/northern-ireland/northern-ireland/down/annaclone/maps/physical-map/

- wonder if it was a bad spelling of there - not asure though as other spellings were correct  :-\

Sorry - I think I might have been misunderstood or haven't explained my request too well. I looked at the list of Townlands in Annaclone before I put up this request. None of them seemed to match. It might be that the place is not a Townland but a smaller division - maybe a house, estate, etc.

The Watersons were probably from there from maybe the mid 1600s onwards. William married a Margaret Spalding of Dullarg in the parish of Parton, Kircudbrightshire. He died in the parish of Balmaghie, KKD.
