My thanks to responders to my post of 9 November.  The information provided has advanced my ROCHFORT researches - although only by eliminating a possible connection to the Belvedere family!

2 years on I have just discovered this topic!

my wife's Mark Rochfort (c1730-1800) of Welchstown (par. of Lusk) & Jamestown (par. of Lea).  Mark is believed to be connected to the family of the Earls of Belvedere.

A Mark Rochfort died Balbriggan, July 1809 - possible link to the Mark died 1800 (Balbriggan not far from Lusk)? ,

Thanks hannes teulu.

The Mark Rochfort who died in 1809 was the son of the Mark mentioned in my original post, who died in Jun 1800 (aged 70 - MI Lusk) or more likely in Jun 1804 (Exeter Flying Post Jul 1804).  The latter was my wife's 4-great-grandfather.

Mark senior was the son of Richard Rochfort whose will made in 1762 also names a brother Thomas.  I have been unable to trace the origin of these siblings.  I am keeping an eye on the Registry of Deeds extractions in the hope they may appear there!
