Cassie Galbraith early 1900's
« on: Wednesday 27 August 14 14:41 BST (UK) »
Hi.  Does anybody have any knowledge of a Cassie Galbraith - born in Ireland, probably in the late 1800's, early 1900's.  She is a possible wife of a relative of my grandmother.  I don't know anything else at all about her, except that she was married in New Zealand to a Watson.

Appreciate any leads.
Thanks
Jeanne

Thank You Sinann and JJen, and while I was writing this, Kingskerswell!

No, sadly  I don't have a certificate, the name and Ireland is all I have at present.  I have just recently been contacted by a relative who was aware that I am "into" researching our Watson family. It is one of his ancestors, Just trying to help him out a bit.

What you have both given could be very helpful, so I'll pass it on. He may well be able to recognise some of the other names in the census entries.

So thanks again, much appreciated
Jeanne  :)

Have just found your posting. If it transpires that your relative is related to the Cassie (Catherine) Galbraith of Cashel, Glentogher, who married a William Douglas in 1923 please do let me know.

Now, (just after around 4 years ago) , I have found your post!

Sorry, my Cassie Galbraith was married to George Whitefield Watson (my great uncle) in WELLINGTON NZ.  Sorry, but I can't help you!

This is all i have on George Galbraith.
He came straight out from Ireland and got a job contracting on the roads around Alexandra Victoria and finished up marrying the bosses daughter.

Cheers

Hi Jack! I know that my cousin George Watson, whose mother was a Cassie Galbraith, did make contact with a relative who was researching his Mum's family.  I'll get in touch with him ASAP, I know he's not well at the moment, so I'll need to leave it for a week or two, but I'll get back to you when I have spoken with him!
