If that is the correct parents above   ??? - there are marriages for other siblings -  Nettie Patterson to John Ralston 24 December 1927 - Guelph Wellington Ontario.
and William Paterson to Sadie Smith Hewer 12 June 1936 - Hamilton Wentworth Ontario.

Hi,

So, the thinking is William Walter Lisle and Sarah H Paterson may have divorced and each remarried?  Sarah to George Kerr??

Found the obit for son Wallace John Kerr d 1983.  He was 55.  Husband of E.  Father of G and Dr R Schalk of Washington State.  Grandfather of 2.  Son of George Kerr and the late Sarah Kerr. Brother of M (Mrs J Barnall/Barnett --hard to read, so not sure of name) and E (Mrs J Korpan)

You could see if you can get the obit for John Paterson who died in Oshawa in Sept 1959.  Here is the contact information for the Oshawa library and the date/newspaper where you will find the obituary

Thank you for all the replies, the only one that seem to makes sense is if William Walter dies or they divorce which would allow Sarah to remarry, unless we go down the bigamy route!!,

I'm convinced that the chap who marries Maude Chorley is not William Walter Lisle, based on the marriage record that's available on Family Search. As the name is spelt differently and the parents are different from my William W.

I have the birth certificate for Sarah H Paterson B in 1899 she's the daughter of John Paterson and Elizabeth Blaikley (spelling of name varies depending on who is recording it).

Finding a birth for Wallace John Kerr in 1928 or his parents marriage could solve the problem but I've never had any luck with that either.

Once again thank you for your suggestions.

RK,
Many thanks I've just emailed the Oshawa library to see if they can mail me a copy.

Super - I hope the obituary gives you some answers.

This might be Wallace Kerr's brother-in-law James Barnett.  Died in Guelph in 2004.  Husband of Margaret Kerr (1996).   Buried in Elora.
