Julia O'Donnell & John Hynes
« on: Monday 08 September 14 17:36 BST (UK) »

Hello,
I have as great grandparents I believe a Julia O'Donnell born 1858 and married John Hynes at St Johns Church, Limerick on 14 August 1877, both RC. John was 22 and Julia 19. Is anyone able to confirm these facts for me, enabling me to write it in tablets of stone as they say. The reason for requiring confirmation is that some of the family feel that Great Grandmother was a Smith! Hence some clarification required.

Thank You in anticipation.

Hello,

You have very precise information there with a date and place so it seems odd that you would not have the names.

In the marriage indexes for 1877 Limerick, volume 15, pg 235, John Hynes and Juliah O'Donnell appear on the same page but there are other names of course. None however, is a Julia Smith.  :)

The certificate would confirm the marriage.

I think Granny Smith was discounted here

Thank you very much for that, to be honest I could not trace the previous topics about Granny Smith, and was not sure which was correct, Smith or O'Donnel. With the link back to last time supplied by yourself everything has been cleared up, so extremely thankful to you. Dare I try to trace their parents? Perhaps not, quit whilst the going is good.
Thanks again Heywood, appreciated.
