Looking at Google streetmap, there are several groups of terraces which look about that age still existing in Luton road, just north of Princes street. Mostly in sixes. Can't see any with Wellington terrace on them. Often in the early 20th century there would be an inset carved stone with name in centre.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Walking the census, it looks like Luton Road / Princes Street.
Can anyone read the plaque on the front of the building turning right fromPrincesSt, first ho on right?

Hi

1901 census pre-amble says

. . . . . "Pond Head, the whole of Luton Road from Angel Inn on the left, and the New Inn on the right, to and including, Wellington Terrace both sides. John Dean's, Princes Street both sides"

So, it doesn't now sound like a "row of cottages", more like a "yard" of some sort.

If you go to the ordnance survey site old-maps.co.uk it is on a map from  1901. On right hand side (east) of Luton road, part of which seems to be called Finns lane. Just north of junction with princes street. They are still there on Google street map.

Lat/ long:  51.944857 deg n and 0.529957 deg west

on 1882 map and 1901
