Fortune Davis was baptised at Rockfield 24 March 1778, daughter of William & Lucy

http://www.freereg.org.uk/

The marriage is on FreeReg which has some transacriptions for the parish - John Phillips married Fortune Davis in Rockfield 3 July 1799, both otp.

The newspaper reports of the offence say that it happened in Aberavon and it was 2 rams
http://papuraunewyddcymru.llgc.org.uk/en/home

There is a census entry for a John Phillips in Queen Street Aberavon in 1841, enumerated as 30, a labourer & not born in county HO107/1421/1 folio 5 pg 2

Not sure if this is the correct John Phillips, but this one was definitely transported the following year, possibly via Devonport.

what sort of info are you looking for on this family? If you let us know, someone can try to look it up if it exists.

Hi Osprey ,Thanks for that .I feel you may be on the right track with you information. The paper I have is a combination of many records and has to be linked together so I take none as gospel. John was estimated at 31yrs  in 1842 , 5 May 1811 as a baptism date plus the same family members looks good . He married in Tasmania while still serving his sentence to a Bridget Grealy  who stole clothes from her employer . I am going to see  if I can get a copy of there marriage cert in the hope that it will give me more info maybe a mothers name . ;D  :)  .

This one looks to be a possible for his father
