14 Dec., 1770. £5 10 for repairing Llanychurwis** and
Llansaintfraid Bridges was ordered to be paid out
of the poor Lewn.
3 Oct., 1770. It was decided to Respond to the appeal of
John Evans & Henry Owen against a rate or
assessment made upon the Inhabitants of the
Lower Division of the said Parish of Poole by John
Pu^h & Geo Lloyd Esq' late Bailiffs of the Borough
of Poole for & towards the Relief of the Poor of the
sd Middle Division & also to any appeal that shall
be made against the Rates or assessments made by
the sd John Pugh & George Lloyd upon the
Inhabitants of the Upper Division of the sa Parish
for the purposes aforesaid & that what sum or sums
of Money shall be reasonably Disbursed by them the
said Churchwardens & overseers or either of them
in the Defence of such appeal shall be allowed in
their Respective accounts of Dispursements.

And we do hereby entifage to each other that the following
shall be the articles and Regulations for the Establishment
and Government of this Society.
Rules.
1. That this Society shall be known by the name of the
WeWt Pool Assoc Uitimi for Prosecuting FeloTis ; and that
every Person or Persons who shall hereafter commit any kind
of Felony or depredation on the person or property of any of
the subscribers in any place whatsoever within the distance of
Five miles from the siiid Town of Pool, (such distance to
commence and be taken from the Cross Pump in the said
Town) and not elsewhere, or who shall be suspected to have so
done, shall be pursued, apprehended, and prosecuted at the
joint expense of the Members of this Society.
2. That all Persons who shall knowingly receive any goods
stolen from any of the subscribers hereto, or who shall conceal
or comnound any Felony committed within the district
aforesaid on the property ot any of the subscribers shall be
prosecuted at the expense of this Societv.
3. That Robert Griffiths Esq. be and he is hereby appointed
Treasurer of this Society and each subscriber shall, at the
time of his subscribing, my into the hands of the Treasurer
any sum not less than Ten shillings and sixpence towards
establishing a fund for the benefit ot this undertaking and the
same, as well as all other sums hereafter to be and become a
part of such fund or stock shall be applied towards the
defraying and paying all charges and expenses which shall
have been incurred on account of this Society, and that Mr.
James Thomas, Mr. Thomas Bo wen, Mr. Henry Owen, Mr.
Thomas Clarke and Mr. Edward Pugh. Members of this
Society, be and they are hereby appointed a Committee
for managing the affairs of this Society and transacting all
business relative to it from this time until the first General
Annual Meeting and that a Book shall be kept by the
Treasurer in which shall be entered the Receipts and
Disbursements of the said Society, and Minutes of the
•Proceedings of the Society and thei/ Committee for the time
being: And that Mr. Pryce Owen be the Secretary whose
business it shall be to enter all the Resolutions and Proceedings
of the Society and the Committee for the time being, which
Books as aforesaid shall be submitted to the inspection and
perusal of the subscribers or any of them at all reasonable times.
4. That if it shall appear to the Committee, on examination
of the Treasurer's accounts, that more money is wanted than
His name appears on another three occasions.
