Kilmacthomas Workhouse
« on: Sunday 28 September 14 16:45 BST (UK) »
Hi

I found out that one of my great great grandfathers - Francis Drohan -  died in the workhouse in Kilmacthomas in 1882. Is there somewhere I could find more details about why he entered and how long he was there and if he entered on his own or with family

thanks

Paul

There's a link to the workhouse in the Resources topic at the top of the board-

Dear Paul,
I recently spent 4 weeks working solidly on the Drohan family tree of Carrick on Suir. My primary interest is the Davin family  - as you would know Philip Drohan married Mary Davin.  I have built up quite a large tree that I would like to share with you.  I don't have very much on the branch you appear to be researching though so it would be great to compare notes.    I hope to hear from you.  Joanne

Francis Drohan was my GG-grandfather who died at the Workhouse. We are connected to the Drohan families of Kilmac, Carrick on Suir, Clonmel, Liverpool, and Yonkers, NY. I would appreciate exchanging information with you. My email is (*). Thanks

Paul,
I discovered your workhouse thread and was fascinated!  My 3rd great-grand father is Francis Drohan.  I am 90% sure its the same one what is in your tree.  I would love to learn more about this branch of my family. My tree is a public tree on Ancestry.com.: girasekfamily

I hope to learn from all the great work you've done, as I am just beginning his journey!
