Good news. Marriage cert arrived and Patricks father is indeed John (printer, journeyman). Thats certainly got the ball rolling. Thanks again for all your help.

The Marriage record for John McLoughlin and Norah Mullin 14 Nov 1897 gives Johns Address as Shamble Street , occupation Printer and Norah as a live in Servant in the Asylum. Was there an asylum in Castlebar?
