What a brilliant idea!  Thanks so much.  I shall send off an email to them right now.

Many thanks to everyone for the interest shown.  I really appreciate it.

Does the back of your plate look like this?

Malky - thanks for your response.  The reverse of the plate only looks similar in respect of the Coalport Logo.  The numbers X 1995 and 42 are in gold, very small and on the side of the base of the plate.  I also found what looks like 1x02 and something else I cannot make out at all.

I have written to the museum and will definitely let everyone know which castle it is.

Is there no writing above the "Logo" near the edge of the plate?

I am attaching a picture of the back of my plate.

The x1995 is at about 11 o'clock and the 42 at about 8 o'clock.  At about 9 o'clock there is  a 1x02, plus something else I cannot identify at all.  It vaguely looks like an arrow facing the edge of the base and a reverse 9.  Even my magnifying glass is not helping with it at all!

The marks on the plate (other than those towards the edges) were used from about 1891 to 1939. 1995 is the pattern number and the X simply denotes dinnerware whereas v meant vases, z dessertware and Y teaware
