You'll need to make sure that all the people you have found are all from the same family (it's easy to end up tracing the wrong person if you assume records found belong to them).

Starting with whoever ended up in Scotland you could trace them (Scottish records tend to be much more comprehensive than Irish ones).

Unfortunately you are looking at dates well before the start of civil registration in Ireland and the first complete census is 1901.
Thank you I have Joseph brown born Ireland and I have his married certificate bu t no parents on it and his death certificate same no parents but I have found relatives on line and they have all came to the same place as me so I can't see use all being wrong he he.we all had the stuff before we found each other I know what you are saying but.I have been to Ireland and they have nothing on the family at all.and someone on rootschat says he knows the brown family that moved back to Ireland but he will not talk to me because I will not type in proper English.

There is absolutely no reason to keep posting time and time again looking for the same information as you've done for the Browns (on Monaghan, Lanarkshire, etc.).

It looks as though you've traced your line back to Joseph Brown born c1822* in Ireland (married Margaret McCaskie in Scotland). How, then do you get back to the Robert Brown that went to Ohio?

*note: poster gives death as 1889 age 79 so born c1810 (see below)

Just a few of the topics you have for this family-

Also a previous post on US board looking for same information:

And, if this is correct, your Joseph Brown died in Scotland in 1889 aged 79 so born c1810 not 1821, and certainly not likely to be the son of Robert & Esther Brown who went to U.S.

HI i started my family tree search with my father and i got to joseph brown who married margaret caskie. and i hit a brick wall. as on joseph brown marriage and death certificates it does not say who his parents where at all. and for his death certificate his age could be wrong as when he died they might not have known him and just put down an age. because on his wifes death certificate her age was wrong as well by 10 years.and on other certificate i have wrong names and dates of births on census as well. i have had 10 different people send me emails telling me that joseph brown parents where robert brown and esther and all there kids. and they have all went down the same road as me. and came to the same that his parents where robert brown and esther. sorry for all the same posts. i forget where i have posted stuff. before.

Now, you have a Joseph Brown born c1810-1825ish in Ireland who married & died in Scotland. His marriage & death records do not list the names of his parents.

Then, there's a Robert Brown in Co. Monaghan who married Esther and died In Ohio, USA in 1823. Robert & Esther had family, some of which seem to have been traced in U.S. records.

So how the blazes can you, or anyone else, assume that your Joseph Brown is connected to Robert & Esther Brown  ???

Just because 'people tell you' that they are the same family does not make it true, or even in this case very likely.

Very few church records in Ireland go back before mid-1850s and of those that survive not all are online. Therefore, to start researching in Ireland you need to know a location (parish if not actual parish), their religion and details that can make the connection (in this case the names of Joseph's parents).

Suggest you go back through each of the 25 topics shown in my previous post, disregard all your suppositions about the Browns in USA and then see all the information that's been found for you already.
