Jemima Jones ( b circa 1829, Llandegai)
« on: Monday 20 October 14 23:39 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can find this lady in the 1841 census, please (she had left for the United States by 1851. An obituary suggests a connection with 'Pen y Bronydd/Pena'r Bronydd' just to the north of Tregarth.

There is a reasonable candidate at HO107/1396/3/29/1   Tan Y Dderwen(Llandegai district)
Identifiable properties on nearby pages are Lon Isa,Wern Fawr and Tyn yr Clawdd, which seem to be in the right area.
Head of household is a Jane Jones(Ind)(45),and Jemima(mis transcribed) is given as 13,with brothers John(25),David(20),Benjamin(15)-all slate quarry workers.

Regards
Roger

An even closer identifiable property is Perthi Corniog, just next to the Tan y Dderwen entries and close to Pen y Bronydd on the map.

There is a Tandderwen in Tregarth at postcode LL57 4AF,with Pen y Bronnydd being at LL7 4AE,this looks a likely candidate.
